Christie’s Introduces Free Gucci Appraisals
My husband's "vintage" loafers
In a decidedly mass market move, Christie’s has recently added a new feature, “Gucci Collector,” to their auction website offering free appraisals of vintage Gucci items “that are of a type and value typically sold at Christie’s.” (I doubt my hubby’s shoes make the cut).
The partnership between the “House of Gucci” and “House of Christie’s” is hardly surprising given that both are owned by the “House of Pinault.”
An online form is available on the auctioneer’s website and an estimate is provided within 2-4 weeks. Obtaining an estimate requires color photos, dimensions, history of item and copies of receipts etc.
If the items are deemed Christie’s worthy, they may be consigned for an upcoming sale.
