With 60 galleries not returning to Art Basel Miami Beach for the December 2009 edition, the fair admitted 65 new exhibitors. (Posting on exhibitors who didn’t return here.)

The fair is expanding, at least in terms of square footage. Art Basel is adding a fourth hall to the usual three. The “Art Positions” section, previously sited in containers on the beach, will be located in the convention center.

Among new exhibitors in 2009, some previously exhibited at Art Basel Miami Beach prior to 2008. They are indicated.

Others are new to the Art Basel Miami Beach venue, but have previously exhibited at Art Basel in Basel Switzerland (mostly in the June 2009 edition) and those names are indicated as well.

The list is divided into three sections: the main art galleries, plus  Art Nova and Positions. No more Super Nova.
