Tiffany Dubin has been appointed director of business development for the Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries. Heritage is the world’s third largest auction house, with annual sales of more than $600 million, according a company press release.

Heritage will be opening a New York venue at 445 Park Avenue in September 2010.

Dubin comes with auction pedigree. She founded Sotheby’s fashion department in the late 1990s. Her stepfather is real estate developer Alfred Taubman, Sotheby’s largest shareholder from 1983-2005.

More recently Dubin worked at Tepper Galleries, a downtown auctioneer who specialize in art, furnishings and decorative items at affordable prices.

With the planned fall openings of Heritage and Phillip de Pury on Park Avenue and 57th Street, around the corner from Bonhams, the area is poised to be transformed into Manhattan’s densest auction spot.
